Traders running away closing shutters, fearing the GST raids in UP.

GST department teams are conducting raids in many districts of UP. Surveys are being done by visiting shops and fines are being imposed if irregularities are found. Due to the actions of these surveys, fear is being seen among the traders. Shopkeepers say that they are being harassed in the name of survey.

Traders are seen upset due to the raids of the GST teams. GST teams are reaching all over the state and collecting fines for tax evasion. Due to the fear of raids, silence is being seen in the markets.

Traders allege that they are being harassed under the guise of raids. On Sunday, several businessmen gathered at the residence of Minister of State Manohar Lal Panth and BJP MLA Ramratan Kushwaha in Lalitpur district.

These traders of Lalitpur said that GST teams are reaching to raid the establishments of registered traders only. Honest businessmen are facing problems. Inspector Raj and corruption are being encouraged in the guise of survey raids. It is alleged that some technical flaws are found in the investigation and then pressure is put for action. Establishments are threatened to be seized. Later penalty is deposited without tax assessment.

Traders running away from rumors in the market

GST teams are conducting raids in almost all the districts including Auraiya, Firozabad, Auraiya, Jhansi, Mahoba, Kanpur, Lalitpur. It is being told that the situation is such that due to the rumor of GST team's raid, shutters of the entire market are pulled down. There is silence in the market in a few moments. The shops which are not registered or fear of action are haunting them, they have closed their shops and are sitting at home. Traders say that shopkeepers who are not under the ambit of GST are also being harassed in the name of raids.

Traders are reaching out to local leaders and demanding to stop the harassment. At present, traders are being assured of help.

Government's negative attitude towards traders: Akhilesh

At the same time, opposition parties including SP, Congress are also trying to make it an issue. Former Chief Minister and SP President Akhilesh Yadav has attacked the BJP government. Akhilesh said- All business organizations of Uttar Pradesh should jointly oppose the biased raids of GST. SP is with every trader. Negative attitude towards traders will further reduce the dwindling business in UP. This raid is a new way of corruption. reprehensible.
