Central Authorities are not attending properly to the registered persons/Advocates. Their behavior is not good. They are feeling themselves as a superintendent of police . We want to give them direction regarding good behavior towards dealers/ consultants.

As the GST Council meeting is still in progress, the press briefing is slightly delayed. The briefing will commence after the GST Council meeting gets over. Inconvenience is regretted.

It isbrought to the notice of Ministry of Finance that CGST as well as SGST officers are mechanical in attaching property under Section 83 of CGST Act. In most of the cases department has been reprimanded number of times for illegitimate actions of these officers. Especially State Tax Officers are absolutely mechanical in issuing the property attachment orders .

Some one please reply at the earliest as to under which section or rule of cgst or sgst act an officer of the Rank of Joint Commissioner can direct the taxpayer to issue or for that matter take a cheque from tax payer for the liability which msy arise as a result of investigation . Not only this the officer concerned first attached the bank accounts of all the partners and the company as well . Now hwe has attached the immovable property which is agricultural and is in the name of one of the partner. So he has attached the property as well as taken cheques in the name of Joint Commissioner . Please let me know the legal position in the matter.

By: Amar Bhaskar | Dt: May 28, 2021
All officers of GST have years old legacy of excise and VAT which is impossible to eradicate similar to poverty of India until they appoint officers through professional institutes like ICAI ICSI or

ICMA.
