GSTN confirmed that changes in late fees made vide Notification No. 57/2020 has been incorporated on GST portal and late fee paid in excess of the said notification shall be re-credited to the taxpayers.

It should be from 1st July 2017 because due to the decisions of the present government every taxpayer facing panic situations specially the tax practitioners. I have paid late fee near about 1 lakh rupees and number of clients paid lakhs of penalty and the government gave waver then what about the taxpayers who paid.

I have gst client some client is late fee piad ten thousand per month but now the notificicatin passes by department in wàiver of penality than return amount of penality paid by excess amount as per notification .

Effective Date is 25/06/2020. i hope re-credit not from July 2017.
